Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

The Greek yogurt strawberry banana smoothie combo is classic and just plain yummy. If you haven’t had a strawberry banana smoothie for a while—perhaps you consider it too obvious and have been in pursuit of more unusual combinations—you are in for a refreshing reminder of why these two fruits are famous flavor buddies. They rock.

(Also, if the idea of strawberry/banana being cliché resonates with you, you sound adventurous and ready for a Beet Smoothie or Oatmeal Smoothie.)

My biggest gripe with many smoothie recipes is that they don’t keep me full for longer than an hour or two. Not this smoothie!

Greek Yogurt Smoothie (8 Flavors!)

The recipe leans heavier on the Greek yogurt, meaning it’s especially rich in protein (important if you are looking for smoothies for weight loss).

Add fiber-rich strawberries, bananas, and oatmeal, plus the help of healthy fats from a touch of peanut butter, and you have a winning breakfast smoothie poised to keep you full and happy until your next meal.

I am SO EXCITED about all of the wonderful, healthy, DELISH recipes I have in store for you this year! Like this strawberry Greek yogurt smoothie, they prove that you don’t have to sacrifice flavor to make wholesome, flavorful meals you’ll adore.

Smoothies are best eaten immediately. This peach smoothie lasts 1 day refrigerated, stored in a sealed container or a mason jar with the lid on. It may separate, which is perfectly natural. Just shake it up and you’re good to go! After 1 day, it starts to lose flavor: so we don’t recommend storing for longer. Storing smoothies is helpful for breakfasts on the go: mix it up the night before, then grab it in the morning.

I love using MCT oil in my Greek yogurt smoothie. It adds a great creamy texture, and is known to be energizing for your body and brain. If you’d rather, opt for a nut butter.

The sky is the limit when it comes to adding flavor! Chai spice, cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, and vanilla are great flavor enhancers for smoothies (and it doesn’t hurt that they all have anti inflammatory properties!).

Greek Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

Get creative! The sky is the limit once you have a template to work off of. Make a coffee smoothie by adding a shot of cooled espresso or cold brew, or a matcha smoothie by adding a teaspoon to a banana smoothie!

Step 1: Add all chosen ingredients into a blender. Use less almond milk for a thicker consistency, and more almond milk for a thinner, more drinkable consistency.

Step 2: Blend smoothie until very smooth and creamy. If using a protein powder, it will expand and “fluff” up to give your smoothie a light texture (so good!).

Low Calorie Smoothies (under 100 Calories!)

Add the frozen fruit, vegetables, and protein powder or superfood ingredients to freezer storage bags. When ready to enjoy a smoothie, dump the bag out into a blender, along with milk of choice and Greek yogurt.

Dairy milk is often difficult to digest. Yogurt contains bacteria that is more beneficial to digestion. In addition, Greek yogurt has more concentrated protein.
