Recipes For Pressure Cooking Chicken Wings

Recipes For Pressure Cooking Chicken Wings

Instant Pot Chicken Wings can be enjoyed with any sauce you like. Although, you can enjoy these plain and they’ll make a fantastic low carb meal.

More of my favorite instant pot recipes include Instant Pot Chicken Noodle Soup, Instant Pot Arroz con Leche, and Instant Pot Beef Stew.

Bone-in chicken wings will always have my heart. I can do boneless wings every now and then but most of the time I’m whipping up a dozen bone-in wings. If you haven’t tried these crispy chicken wings, oven-roasted chicken wings, and baked honey bbq wings, what are you waiting for?

I know sometimes flavors do clash and all that but I’m a huge advocate for seasoning chicken well. Therefore, I seasoned these wings with a spice blend I prepared but I wouldn’t be mad at you for seasoning it to your liking. After all, that’s what cooking is all about.

Like I mentioned before, you can get as creative as you’d like with this recipe. Fresh onions and garlic sauteed alongside the seasoned chicken wings? Go for it! I kept it simple, cause I smothered them in barbecue sauce anyway. If you plan on eating them without sauce, adding fresh garlic and lemon would be great.

For this recipe, I used store-bought bbq sauce but feel free to make your own. Last year I made this delicious Jack Daniels Chicken and Shrimp with the most amazing sauce ever! These honey baked turkey wings also include a wonderful sauce recipe.

How To Cook Chicken Wings In The Electric Pressure Cooker

These chicken wings fully cook through in 10 minutes. Although, to get a nice color on the skin you’re going to want to roast these in the oven for an additional 10 minutes or so. So a total of 20 minutes? You can’t beat that.

The minute these come out of the instant pot I toss them in a bowl with some bbq sauce and then place them in the oven.

Brush extra bbq sauce on the wings after baking for 10 minutes and broil them for an additional 2 minutes if you like them extra saucy.

The best part is you can make it in your Instant Pot in just 30 minutes! It will be a great easy appetizer for Super Bowl party or a Summer cookout!

These Chicken Wings are my new favorite party recipe! First of all, it’s super easy to make. Second, I love the dry rub seasoning that makes these classic BBQ wings spicy and aromatic.

Thanks to the Pressure Cooker, the cooking time is so much quicker than when you bake it. All it takes is 6 minutes to cook on high pressure, then naturally release the pressure for about 10 minutes. I also like to broil the wings after mixing them with BBQ sauce to get the perfect crispiness.

This recipe is all about the flavor! Thanks to the herbs and spices, you will have a beautifully aromatic meal. Once you try this recipe, you won’t do it any other way!

This is my favorite homemade seasoning mix, which I also use in for Chicken Wings with Dry Rub and Oven Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs.

You really can play around with the flavors. If you like it spicy, add more cayenne pepper. For more aroma, add more oregano. Also, I like to use smoked paprika in this recipe for extra smoky touch.

Place the seasoned wings on top of the trivet, so the chicken doesn’t sit in the water. Close the top and set it to Manual High Pressure for 6 minutes. Then naturally release pressure for 10 minutes

Transfer the BBQ chicken wings to a baking sheet with a wire rack. If you have some remaining BBQ sauce left in the mixing bowl, brush it over the wings with a baking brush.

If you don’t have a Pressure Cooker but still want to make this recipe, you can still bake it in the oven. It just will take more time than making them in Instant Pot.

Then place the meat on a baking sheet with a wire rack and bake at 400°F for about 45 minutes. Make sure it’s cooked through and there is no pink color in the center.

You only need 6 minutes to cook 2 pounds of wings. If you double the recipe, you can cook for 7-8 minutes.

After the chicken is cooked, place it on a baking sheet with a wire rack and broil for about 5-7 minutes or until the skin is crispy and has beautiful char.

1. Use fresh or defrosted wings and not frozen ones. The reason is, we need to mix meat with the spices, so they are evenly coated. If your meat if frozen, I would advise to defrost it before cooking.

2. Make sure you use a trivet or a steamer basket. You don’t want the meat to sit in the liquid. Otherwise, it will be soggy and watery.

4. Sauce. If you want to make Buffalo sauce instead, just use ⅓ cup Frank’s hot sauce, 3 tbsp melted butter, and 1 tbsp honey. Mix with the wings and it’s ready! No need to broil!
