Avocado Toast With Egg Recipe
There’s a ridiculous amount of different ways you could make avocado and egg on toast, and whilst there’s no right or wrong way, today I’m going to show you the best way ๐. Follow me…
The avocado makes up a big part of this recipe, so it’s important to let it shine. Sure, you could just mash up some avocado, but I like throwing in a few extra goodies:

When it comes to smashing the avocado, just make sure you don’t mash it into oblivion. You want to keep a bit of texture, so a few lumps here and there are fine!

My second option would be a Poached Egg, just so you get the glorious runny egg yolk. Scrambled Eggs are pretty nice, but you’ll miss out on the runny egg yolk ๐
Process shots: add butter to non-stick pan (photo 1), stir to melt (photo 2), fry eggs and baste in butter (photo 3), remove from pan, leave butter (photo 4).
I always get stick when I post a ‘something on toast’ recipe because I always end up frying the bread. Which I guess leaves you with more of a ‘something of fried bread’ recipe, but let’s not get stuck on technicalities here ๐. It’s criminal to waste leftover butter!

You want something sturdy like Sourdough or Artisan Style bread. Just so it toasts up nicely and gives you a firm platform to stack on the avocado and egg. Soft sandwich bread isn’t great for this recipe.
When it comes to putting everything together, the only extra addition I add is hot sauce. Because quite frankly no avocado egg toast is complete without a few lashings of hot sauce. It adds a final hit of flavour and cuts through the rich egg yolk and buttery egg whites.
Honestly? I’d keep it simple as it is. However, if you want to crank it up a notch then bacon, feta or roasted cherry tomatoes are all welcomed additions.

I usually whip this up for Breakfast or Brunch on the weekend. It’s perfect as it is, but if you wanted to take things up a notch you could serve with Hash Browns or Breakfast Potatoes!
A) Hot Sauce - I'd recommend a few drops even if you're not good with spice. It adds a final kick of flavour to cut through the richness of the yolk and buttery eggs. Don't sub with chilli/red pepper flakes, they don't offer the same kind of tangy/vinegary flavour. I typically use Cholula hot sauce, but Frank's and Tabasco also work well.

B) Runny egg yolks - You don't have to make sunny side up eggs if you don't like runny egg yolk; you could make them over easy instead. Once they're all cooked (a little ring of uncooked white around the yolk) just flip them over and fry for another 30 seconds or so. For over medium or hard just flip them sooner and cook longer on the flipped side until the yolk is cooked to your preference.
C) Can I make scrambled eggs or poached eggs instead? - Yep! Check out my Perfect Scrambled Eggs and Perfect Poached Eggs ๐

There’s nothing as delicious or simple as avocado egg toast. Avocados are so nutritious and delicious but nothing beats a creamy avocado spread over toasty crunchy bread! If you haven’t tried avocado toast yet, then you’re missing out. This 3 way avocado toast with eggs is all you need.
To finish off the avocado toast, you need to decide how you want to cook your eggs. My 3 favorite ways are scrambled, poached and fried.
Avocado Toast With Poached Egg
Avocado toast is a healthy meal option when eaten in moderation. However, avocados are high in fat and calories. If you go overboard on portions, it can lead to weight gain. The best portion of avocado would be about half an avocado a day and not more.
Avocadoes and toast go well with so many things. My most favorite combos with avocado is eggs, smoked salmon, crumbled feta cheese, honey, tomatoes, herbs and spices like black pepper and everything but the bagel seasoning.

You can use any bread. But you want something thick and sturdy. Especially if you add extra toppings, you want something that can hold some weight without it falling apart.
Avocado Toast With Quail Eggs
To speed up ripening the avocado you can place unripe avocados in a brown paper bag (like the brown lunch bags) with an apple and seal it. The apple releases ethene gas to help speed up the ripening process.
Avocado is best kept simple to enjoy the rich creamy flavor. The only seasonings I like using when making avocado toast are black pepper, chili flakes, salt and everything but the bagel seasoning.
Toppings really helps turn avocado toast from being a part of a meal or a snack into a whole full meal! Here are some ideas of what to top your avocado toast with:

In this post I’m going to show you how I make my avocado toast with egg, so you never have to spend $14 buying it at a restaurant. And I’ll show my technique for fried eggs, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and poached eggs to top your avocado toast!
Whole30 Avocado Toast
The first step is to toast the bread and mash the avocados. You can mash it in a bowl with salt and pepper, but I prefer to limit clean-up and just mash it right on the toasted bread. Make sure you have bread sturdy enough to handle the mashing.
The first method is fried eggs. This is the best method I’ve found for frying eggs that yields perfectly cooked egg whites with slightly undercooked egg yolks.Heat some butter (or olive oil). Break an egg onto the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Cook it uncovered until the whites set. You could cover it up once the whites set if you wanted a more firm yolk.

Start with butter (or olive oil) and heat it until it’s melted. Whisk the eggs in a small bowl, then pour them into the center of a nonstick pan. The egg mixture will spread, and you want to watch the edges and wait for them to set. Then gently fold the eggs from one side of the pan to the other without smashing the eggs. You’ll get soft fluffy eggs without any milk.

Cover the eggs with water in a small saucepan. Bring the water to a rolling boil, then reduce the heat to low and cook according to the desired doneness (see the suggested times in recipe card below). Transfer
