Vitamix Smoothie Recipes Pineapple

Vitamix Smoothie Recipes Pineapple

This Pineapple Smoothie is a quick & easy recipe that you can blend up in just minutes. All you need is 4 ingredients to make it!

Pineapple mixes particularly well with other tropical fruits, like mango, coconut, and banana. In this pineapple smoothie, you’ll use banana for extra creaminess, along with coconut milk and orange juice.

Pineapple

To make this smoothie, you’ll need to start with frozen pineapple. I buy it frozen at the store, but you can also freeze your own by cutting it into chunks and freezing it flat on a lined baking sheet. (Similar to my tutorial on frozen watermelon, if you want to check that out for reference.)

The frozen pineapple gives this smoothie a slushy, frozen texture similar to a milkshake. You’ll also want to use frozen bananas, to keep it nice and thick. (Here’s how to freeze bananas.)

I like to add in a little bit of coconut milk for creaminess, and satisfying fats to help keep you feeling full. I use the full-fat coconut milk that you find in a can, but you can use the refrigerated version, or any other type of milk you like, for a lower-fat option.

Using coconut milk also gives it a PiƱa Colada-like taste, but you can try it with almond milk or hemp milk, if you don’t love the coconut flavor.

Lately, I’ve been using half coconut milk with half orange juice as the liquid, because the orange juice adds a nice sweet & tangy flavor to balance out the creaminess. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!

This Pineapple Smoothie is the perfect balance of sweet & tart flavors, made with creamy coconut milk. It tastes like you're on a tropical vacation!

If you use fresh pineapple or banana for this recipe, you may need to add ice. Keep in mind this may dilute the flavor slightly. For a lower-fat and less filling drink, you can use coconut milk from the refrigerated section, or just use water for blending, instead.

Ok, now that we’ve chatted about the ingredients in this pineapple banana smoothie, let’s move on to discussing the process. It’s super simple, so this will be short and sweet!

For ultra-creamy smoothies I recommend using a Vitamix blender. If you’ve been around my blog for a while then you know my love for my blender runs deep. Check out this Vitamix Buying Guide to learn why I chose Vitamix 10+ years ago and never looked back!

Pineapple

Begin by adding all the ingredients in the order listed in the pineapple smoothie recipe to the container of a Vitamix blender (or another high-powered blender). It’s important to add the coconut milk first,

Add the frozen fruit, for easy blending. I like to add the honey on top of the frozen fruit to ensure it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the blending container!

Next, secure the lid and blend the pineapple smoothie until it’s smooth and uniform throughout. As you can see in the video, I used tamper to press the ingredients to the blades, which I recommend doing if you’re using a Vitamix!

You can store this pineapple smoothie in a glass jar with a lid for up to 2 days in the refrigerator or 1 month in the freezer. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator.

Pineapple Recovery Smoothie

Yes! If you want to make this a spinach pineapple smoothie simply add 1-2 cups of fresh or fresh-then-frozen spinach on top of the frozen fruit before blending! Check out my Green Smoothie post for tips about freezing spinach!
