Of course you can just eat the vegan chili with vegan cheese and call it a day. But you can also take it up a notch. Here’s some topping ideas for chili cheese fries:
Vegan Chili Cheese Fries With Cheese Sauce
Yes! Use the bean based nacho cheese sauce and look at the list for meat substitution ideas for to replace the wheat.
For the worcestershire sauce – you could also purchase agluten free version of the worcestershire sauce. Alternatively, you could use a steak sauce (most are vegan) like A1 that does not usually contain Top 8 Allergens.
You can prep the chili 3-5 days ahead of time, but we do not recommend making the fries ahead of time as they just don’t get as crisp.
Healthy Vegan Chili Cheese Fries
If you have made the entire dish and need to reheat, we recommend adding to an air fryer at 450 degrees for 8-10 minutes

Wait a minute, chili cheese fries can be healthy? Yup, they absolutely can be! These healthy chili cheese fries are made with nutritious, whole food ingredients. It's a totally guilt-free recipe, but it tastes like an indulgent cheat meal.

Classic Chili Cheese Fries
First, we'll bake homemade french fries til they're golden and crispy. Then, we'll smother them in spicy chili and vegan nacho cheese sauce. Get ready - these will be a new favorite in your household!
For the french fries, you can use frozen fries and follow the package instructions. Alternatively, create these homemade crispy baked french fries. They are easy to make and so delicious!
Pro tip: If you have a high-speed blender, blend the nacho cheese on high for 2 minutes just before serving over the chili cheese fries. It will be piping hot and ready to enjoy. Otherwise, you can heat it in on the stove or in the microwave. If using the microwave, cook for 25 seconds and then give it a good stir.
Chili Cheese Fries
The process is pretty self-explanatory: divide the crispy baked fries onto serving plates, cover with the chili, and liberally drizzle the nacho cheese sauce on top. To garnish, sprinkle cilantro or diced jalapeño over everything.
Short on time? Instead of creating the fries from scratch, you can use 1-2 bags of frozen french fries. Additionally, you can replace the chili recipe with 2-3 cans of your favorite vegan chili. Although I recommend following the exact recipe, these swaps will help you achieve similar results with less time and effort.

How else can you serve chili and cheese sauce? You can serve the vegan chili + nacho cheese sauce over tortilla chips, baked potatoes, brown rice, sweet potatoes, and vegan hot dogs.

I only recommend products I personally use, trust, and love!I’ve got to brag for just a second, my husband took one bite of these fries and told me that they were one of the best things I’ve ever made! It made me really happy, although I secretly wanted to eat the whole pan for myself, but it makes me certain that you will love them too!
Vegetarian Loaded Fries
Do you remember that creamy butternut squash mac n’ cheese I made a few weeks ago? Well, I was so smitten with that “cheese” sauce that I just had to use it again. And since I am being forced into watching football games every single night (when did football start being played every single night?!) I might as well have my football snacks and eat them too.

I think what I love most about this dish is that I feel really sneaky eating it, like I’m getting away with something big. These chili cheese fries definitely have lot of taste, but they don’t have all the oil and grease that come with a big basket of chili cheese fries that you might get at the pub. You can actually feel pretty good about yourself after eating these!
I started making my own oven baked french fries a few years ago and I have never turned back to the frozen ones. Homemade fries are so much better and you can mix things up and flavor them with any spices you wish. All you need to do is cut a russet potato into french fries and bake in a 400 degree oven for about 25 – 30 minutes until they are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Chili 'cheese' Fries Recipe
You could always use frozen french fries and canned chili to make things a little easier, but the extra time that you take to cut your own potatoes and mix up your own chili is totally worth it! Trust me, you won’t regret it, and if you are anything like my husband you will be telling yourself that these vegan chili cheese fries are one of the best things you have ever made 🙂These Vegan Chili Cheese Fries are the pure definition of comfort food.
