This healthy pork fried rice recipe is indeed healthy because it’s loaded with fresh ingredients. We’re not using any processed stuff, added sugars, or MSG either! There’s a nice serving of protein, too, which we’re always happy about (keeps you fuller longer and less likely to grab unhealthy snacks).
High sodium makes us feel bloated and can cause even more inflammation. We use a low sodium soy sauce (which has 40% of the salt removed after brewing).
Try to change up the ratio of rice to veggies when making this Chinese dish. I added some mushrooms, shallots, and some peas to keep you satisfied (in a healthy non-bloated kind of way). Add more if you want, sky’s the limit if you ask me!

Whenever I go to a Chinese restaurant, I always order pork fried rice. That combination of fresh veggies, tender pork and flavorful rice just can’t be beat. I’ve since learned how to make this dish at home, and it’s actually quite easy to put together.
To make this recipe, you will need vegetable oil, pork tenderloin, onion, carrots, peas, garlic, ginger, eggs, rice, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper and green onions.
Quick Pork Fried Rice Recipe: How To Make It
Start by cutting pork tenderloin into small pieces, then brown the meat in a skillet or wok. Remove the pork from the pan, then add the veggies and eggs. The next step is to add the cooked ingredients back to the skillet along with white rice, toasted sesame oil and soy sauce. Stir fry until everything is coated in sauce, then add a sprinkling of sliced green onions and enjoy.
I recommend using long grain white rice for this dish for the best results. You can use a regular white rice or an aromatic variety such as jasmine rice.

Fried rice contains some oil, but other than that, the basic ingredients of lean pork, vegetables, eggs and rice are wholesome and contain plenty of nutrients and protein. If you’re looking for ways to make your fried rice healthier, you can reduce the amount of oil by half, substitute cooked brown rice for white rice, and add extra vegetables to the mix.

Instead of defaulting to the usual Chicken Fried Rice, I decided to switch it up and try making this pork fried rice using a lean pork tenderloin I discovered in our freezer.
Traditional Chinese pork fried rice is made of leftover rice, pork, scrambled egg, green onions (or scallions), and seasonings such as soy sauce, oyster sauce, and/or hoisin.
For crispy pork fried rice that soundly beats take out in the texture department (while I have other gripes about takeout fried rice, the texture is quite spot-on), use cold, leftover cooked rice.

Leftover pork fried rice is delicious on its own, but if your leftovers are low on pork, you can bulk them up by adding some Air Fryer Tofu or Crispy Asian Chicken Tenders.
If you enjoy making stir fries and other Asian-inspired recipes, a wok is a wonderful investment. This one is nonstick and comes with a lid.
It’s easy to prep pork fried rice ahead of time. Up to 1 day in advance, cut and trim the pork, cut the bell peppers, ginger, and garlic, and cook the rice. Refrigerate each ingredient in a separate airtight storage container.
