Chicken Salad Recipe Yogurt Apples
Switch up your lunch routine with this fun twist on a lunchtime classic. Our Greek Yogurt Chicken Salad is a super simple recipe that takes only 15 minutes to make. By adding toasted pecans, tart Granny Smith apples, and Greek yogurt, we created a whole new flavor profile that takes a boring chicken salad to the next level. It’s sweet, tart, tangy, nutty, and overall delicious!
Chicken salad is one of my favorite low-calorie, low-carb, high-protein recipes. There are endless ways to create variations! You can switch up the crunchy elements by swapping in apples for celery. Or, if you like fresh and herbaceous flavors, you can add herbs to the mix, like dill, parsley, cilantro, rosemary, or more. So long as you toss it all in a creamy dressing to bring everything together, you can literally do anything you want with it!

If you’ve followed for a while, you might have noticed that we absolutely love Greek yogurt. It’s tangy and delicious, and using it is the ideal way to skinny-up your favorite recipes (especially mayonnaise-based recipes, because yogurt has a fraction of the saturated fat and calories as compared to mayo). That being said, sometimes there’s a place for clean-eating mayonnaise.

Adding a few tablespoons of mayo creates the perfect dressing for this Greek Yogurt Chicken Salad recipe. It adds a tiny bit of fat, which helps carry all the rest of the flavors. If you’re at the store, look for mayonnaise brands that use only clean-eating ingredients, like Primal Kitchen or Chosen Food brands.
There are a lot of great vegan alternatives, too. If you’re adventurous enough to make your own, try ourPlant-Based Avocado Mayonnaise. It only uses six ingredients, and it’s good in the refrigerator for up to a week.
You have a few options when it comes to serving this Greek Yogurt Chicken Salad. Our recipe has less than 300 calories, so you can eat it by itself for a super low-calorie lunch or midday snack. If you’re not following a low-carb diet, you could enjoy this chicken salad on crackers, whole-wheat pita, or sandwich bread.
Waldorf Chicken Salad
If low-carb is more your style, you’ll want to think outside the box. Wrapping the chicken salad in lettuce cups is a classic way to create a sandwich without any carbs, but you could also serve it inside an avocado. That’s an especially good idea if you’re following the keto diet because you’ll get a full serving of healthy fats, too.
Something, either. I’ve eaten chicken salad straight out of the container as a quick pick-me-up before a workout or as a midday snack. Since it’s a high-protein food, this salad is a great way to tide you over until the next meal.
Add all your favorite herbs to this low-calorie chicken salad. The tangy flavor and nutty crunch are an adventure for your taste buds.

Bright and fresh, this yogurt-based chicken apple salad recipe is tart, tangy and savory. Fresh dill, green onions, and green apples give it a zesty flavor, while celery and grapes add crunch. The best part? It’s easy to make and can be served as a main dish or a side salad.
Chicken Salad Recipe
If you’ve been looking for a healthy chicken apple salad recipe that doesn’t use mayo, this recipe is for you! The yogurt not only adds creaminess, but also a boost of protein. And because there’s no mayo, this salad is perfect for picnics and potlucks. Just be sure to keep it chilled until you’re ready to serve.
Before you get started, make sure you are using high-quality whole milk yogurt. I loveStonyfield Organic Plain Whole Milk Yogurt. It’s thick, creamy, and has a slightly tangy flavor that’s perfect for this salad.

I like to use a crisp apple like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or even Envy apples. You want an apple that won’t turn mushy when it’s chopped and will hold up well in the salad.
Curried Chicken Salad With Apples And Raisins
Yes, you can definitely make this salad without chicken. Just leave out the chicken and add in an extra apple or some chopped nuts.
No, you don’t have to use yogurt, but I do think it’s the best option. If you don’t have regular yogurt on hand, you could use Greek yogurt.
This chicken apple salad recipe is a healthy and delicious alternative to traditional chicken salad recipes. It uses Stonyfield whole milk yogurt instead of mayo for a bright, creamy chicken salad that’s big on taste. You can serve this salad in a sandwich, wrap, or even as a dip. Healthy Chicken Salad With Apples
I've made a lot of chicken salads y'all. And you know what? This Greek yogurt chicken salad may just be the best one yet.
Yes, it's that tasty. I'm happy to say it even got an enthusiastic This is so good! from our six-year-old daughter when she tried her first spoonful!
Loaded with the wonderful Fall flavors of apples and pecans, a bit of sweetness from red grapes, and the creaminess of Greek yogurt, this chicken salad packs a resounding flavor punch. Not to mention ...
Minute Canned Chicken Salad Recipe
I love that it's a bit more health-conscious than the typical mayonnaise-laden chicken salad ... and packs a little extra protein from the use of Greek yogurt.
The first inspiration was our family's visit last weekend to an apple orchard. It was little Miss H.'s first time at an orchard, and as expected, she loved it. We weren't able to pick our own apples because of this year's smaller-than-usual apple crop in our area ... apparently, some spring storms damaged the blooms. But we were able to take a hay ride and pick our own pumpkin, which Miss H. adored.

And while we couldn't pick our own apples, we were able to buy some super-fresh, just-picked red beauties from the orchard stand.
Greek Yogurt Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps
Will easily slide right into our bread line-up. While each variety is different in texture and flavor, they all have great fresh-baked taste. And they're all nice and hearty and filling!
I especially love the super soft texture of the Sprouted Grain, the crunchiness of the Seeded Grain, and the slight sweetness from molasses in the Ancient Grain.
The Ancient Grain! The bread's subtle sweetness paired really well with the salad's tang from the Greek yogurt and sweetness from the pecans and fruit. But truly, I think any of the three varieties would make a fabulous sandwich.
